Makaton Tutor Jennie

I am Jennie Pitchers, a freelance Makaton tutor, and I am licensed to deliver workshops from the Makaton Communication Programme.

I am also an experienced primary school teacher and have seen the huge benefit Makaton can bring to children and adults with learning or communication difficulties. It is the most amazing privilege to share this with others and to help improve communication for people within the community.

To understand the world around us and to be understood in turn, are fundamental aspects of life and this is what I aim to support so that the communities we live in can be inclusive for all.

Story and rhyme signing sessions

As well as running Makaton training workshops, I love visiting different settings in my local community to share signed stories and songs. Please email me if this would be of interest for your setting.

At Christmas, Otter Garden Centre, Ottery St Mary, welcomed me along to support their special sensory friendly, accessible Winter Wonderland session.

It was a privilege to support the volunteers from Hospiscare to provide such a valuable inclusive experience for the visitors.
